Solo Dolo

The game is simple! Players take turns attempting to guess the word or phrase on the cards. To start, one player selects a card from the top of the deck and holds it up facing the direction of the other player(s). The other player(s) must then come up with hints and clues that describe the word or phrase on the card. When the player holding the card successfully guesses the word or phrase, that player moves on to the next card. Each player gets one minute. The player to collect the most cards at the end of the game wins!

RULES:

  1. The other player(s) can read the given definition on the card but cannot say the word or phrase.
  2. The other player(s) are allowed to reveal the generational origin of the slang word or phrase via the hashtag on the card.
  3. The other player(s) can come up with their own definitions, hints, or clues to help guess the word or phrase.
  4. The other player(s) can rhyme, use sound effects or gestures to indicate the word or phrase.
  5. You can pass on any card at any time but that card must be removed from play.
  6. Cards cannot be played twice during the game.
  7. When time is called, the final card is removed from play.

SCORING:

Players win cards by successfully guessing the correct word or phrase on the card. The final card in play when time runs out is worth no points. At the end of each round cards are tallied and the player to collect the most cards wins!

CONTINUED...

  • A round ends when each player has gone once.
  • Cards are color coordinated by level of difficulty:

  • At the beginning of the game the collective group can decide to play with a single level or with all the levels.
  • There are bonus cards in the deck that are blank. These cards are meant for player(s) to come up with their own slang word or phrase and its definition. The same rules apply if you draw one of these cards.
  • If there is a tie at the end of the game, compete in additional round(s) until one is crowned the winner.
